TANGO 21 DANCE THEATER holds dance auditions once a year, offering dancers an opportunity to join our Intensive Training Program. Dancers trained in Argentine tango, ballet, modern and other styles of social dance are welcome to try out. Please subscribe to our email list to be notified of next audition dates.

If you are interested in joining T21DT, please consider attending group tango classes taught by Jorge & Liz. Our methods and technique in social dance training are complementary and vital to the tango dance theater.

Tango 21 Dance Theater seeks dancers, actors, and musicians– female, male, or non-binary performers, disabled and non-disabled artists, ages 18–60+ for our 2026 El Tango Café show. All experience level welcome. Stipend and pay based on performer experience.
DANCERS with Argentine tango, ballet, modern or other social dancing skills are welcome to audition. If selected, we will train you in tango technique, group choreographies and stage skills. ​
ACTORS of all diverse backgrounds welcome to audition for our production of El Tango Café to be mounted in Summer of 2026.

We are always looking for MUSICIANS & COMPOSERS with an interest in Argentine tango. Open to vocalists, bandoneon/accordion, strings, keyboards, brass, percussion... anything! Please reach out!

This audition is for the 2026 Tango Intensive Program, a 6-week session which will run from January 10 – February 14. This program includes one tango group class and one 2-hour rehearsal per week, culminating in a tango performance at the end of the session. The intensive course is for Argentine social tango dancers who are interested in stage performance and/or want to fast-track their tango technique skills. Dancers will train in tango biomechanics, individual technique as well as stage craft and theatrical skills. The program culminates in a group tango choreography which will be performed at the end of the session.
Dancers who complete this intensive course will be considered for Tango 21 Dance Theater's 2026 production of El Tango Café, which will be mounted in June.
